Will Solar Lights Work On North Side Of House?

Solar lights are generally less effective when placed on the north side of a house because they receive less direct sunlight compared to other directions. In the northern hemisphere, the north side of a house typically receives the least amount of direct sunlight throughout the day, as the sun's path predominantly travels from east to west in the southern sky.

Consequently, solar panels on the north side may receive limited sunlight exposure, resulting in slower or insufficient charging of the lights' batteries. While solar lights may still function on the north side, their performance and brightness may be compromised compared to those placed in areas with more direct sunlight exposure.

Therefore, it's recommended to install solar lights in locations where they can receive ample sunlight, such as the south-facing side of a house or other areas with better sun exposure.
